Select from products below to configure Thermowells
Thermowells are recommended for all process systems where pressure, velocity or viscous, abrasive and corrosive materials are present individually or in combination. A properly selected thermowell will protect the temperature instrument from possible damage resulting from these process variables. Furthermore, a thermowell permits removal of the temperature instrument for replacement, repair or testing without effecting the process media or the system.
Process Connection provides a means of mounting, supporting, and/or sealing the thermowell into the process system.

Shank Types
Straight – The outside diameter is the same size along the immersion length.
Stepped – The outside diameter at the end of the well is reduced to provide quicker response time.
Tapered – Used for high velocity applications. The outside diameter decreases gradually along the immersion length.
Bore Size is the inside diameter of a thermowell. Standard bore sizes are .260 and .385, others are available on request.
Immersion Dimension – Immersion length of a thermowell. The “U” length is measured from the bottom of the process connection to the tip of the thermowell.
“U” dimensions shown are for reference only.
NBS custom manufactures each thermowell to order.
Lagging Extension – exists behind the process connection and is used to extend the hex length and enable the probe to extend through insulation, walls, pipe fittings, etc.
